Purpose

To seek adoption of Gloucestershire’s Local Growth Plan (2025 – 2035).

Decision

Cllr Julian Tooke sought Cabinet adoption of Gloucestershire’s Local Growth Plan (2025 – 2035).

Having considered all of the information, Cabinet noted the report and

RESOLVED to:

A) Agree to adopt Gloucestershire’s Local Growth Plan (2025–2035) as set out in Appendix A.

B) Delegate authority to the Executive Director for Economy, Environment and Infrastructure, in consultation with the Cabinet Member for Business, Economic Development, Planning and Infrastructure, and the Gloucestershire City Region Board, to make minor updates to the Local Growth Plan. Such updates will be limited to incorporating new data or evidence, reflecting any impacts of Local Government Reorganisation on delivery timescales, and integrating material from future strategies (including the Spatial Development Strategy), provided these do not alter the Plan’s strategic direction or core priorities. Any substantive changes will be brought back to Cabinet for approval.

C) Agree to update the Gloucestershire City Region Board Inter-Authority Agreement between the County Council and the six district authorities to reflect that the Local Growth Plan now supersedes the Gloucestershire County Council Economic Strategy (2024–2034).
