The Cabinet Member - Education & Skills ratified a decision to conduct a competitive procurement process for static waste compaction equipment and skips, and to appoint Bergmann Direct Ltd and Skip Units Ltd as suppliers. This decision replaces a previous one from October 2025 and includes awarding call-off contracts for equipment and maintenance services at Hempsted Household Recycling Centre. Authority was delegated to the Executive Director of Economy, Environment & Infrastructure to progress repair works, which will involve closing the centre for approximately three months from August 2026.

The Director of Public Health awarded a call-off contract to Caring for Communities and People Ltd (CCP) for accommodation-based housing-related support to refugees at Wheatridge Court. The contract will commence on 1st July 2026 for an initial period of one year, with an option to extend for a further year.

The Cabinet approved the adoption of the Gloucestershire County Council Green Skills Strategy 2026-2030. Authority was delegated to the Executive Director of Environment, Economy and Infrastructure, in consultation with the Cabinet Member for Education and Skills, to implement the strategy and participate in the Federated Faculty in a coordination and facilitation role.

The Cabinet Member for Nature, Climate and Waste Reduction and the Cabinet Member for Finance, Assets and Transformation exercised the Council's three-year extension option under its contract with EDF Energy Ltd for the sale of electricity. This decision is urgent due to volatile electricity prices and the need to secure a favourable price before the upcoming winter period.
