- That the rationale for appointing an interim for the role of Group Chief Executive Officer to provide continuity of leadership across Greater Manchester Combined Authority, Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service and Transport for Greater Manchester be endorsed.
- That the GMCA be recommended to appoint the Deputy Group Chief Executive to the role of Interim Group Chief Executive, as set out in this report, with effect from 28 August 2026, and taking into consideration the statement of suitability set out in the Part B report of the same title on this agenda.
- That the Deputy Group Chief Executive be appointed to the statutory roles set out in the Role and Statutory Responsibilities section below, as part of the Interim Group Chief Executive role appointment.
- That authority be delegated to the Director of People Services, in consultation with the Mayor to finalise the interim appointment arrangements and deal with any temporary backfilling arrangements as appropriate, subject to legal, financial and governance advice.
