Purpose
As part of Local Plan – full needs assessment – supply and demand and future use and plans for Football, Rugby, Cricket and Hockey and other outdoor grass based sports
Decision
Noted and agreed the Playing Pitch Strategy (PPS) 2026 - 2036 at Appendix 1 of the report, which sets out the current and future provision for playing pitches within the Royal Borough of Greenwich.
Noted that the PPS has been developed in line with Sport England’s PPS Guidance (2013) and also adheres to the National Planning Policy Framework.
Approved the use of the PPS in advising and guiding current and future Royal Borough of Greenwich priorities across all departments including planning applications.
Approved the use of the PPS in future funding opportunities as advised by Sport England.
Noted there is no allocation of, or requests for, resources towards any of the strategic priorities identified, however the PPS provides a list of priority projects that would be considerations for S106 and/or CIL developer contributions
