Noted that following agreement by Council on 24 July 2024 Political Assistants for the Labour Group and the Conservative Group were appointed.  Those appointments automatically terminate on 27 May 2027.

Agreed that the Council should appoint Political Assistants within the framework of the Local Government and Housing Act 1989 for the period May 2026 to May 2030.

Agreed to allocate one Political Assistant post to the Labour Group (35 hours per week) one to the Conservative Group (17.5 hours per week), and one to the Green Group ( 17.5 hours per week) and approved the appointment procedure at paragraph 4.6 of the report, should any Group wish to make an appointment.
