The Community Safety Board scrutinises council policies and spending related to community safety and tackling anti-social behaviour. It acts as an Overview and Scrutiny Committee, reviewing the impact of council decisions and policies, and has lead responsibility for scrutinising relevant Cabinet Members. The Board also discharges the functions of a Crime and Disorder Committee, developing policy and making recommendations to the Cabinet. Its scope includes licensing, gambling, youth offending services, gangs, and the council's use of investigatory powers.
