About
The Standards Committee promotes and maintains high standards of conduct for councillors and other appointed members. It advises the Council on its Code of Conduct, monitors its operation, and recommends training to help members observe it.
The committee considers investigations into alleged breaches of the Code of Conduct, hears appeals against decisions on complaints, and determines applications for dispensations allowing members to participate in decisions. It also handles whistleblowing complaints related to member conduct and other conduct issues not covered elsewhere.
