Purpose

Cabinet permission is required to carry out the second round of public consultation on the Local Plan (Regulation 19 stage).

Decision

  1. That Cabinet approve the draft Local Plan Regulation 19 (Appendix 1) and supporting documents for a six-week consultation period under Regulation 19 of the Town and Country Planning (Local Planning) (England) Regulations 2012.
  1. That Cabinet give delegated authority to the Director of Planning and Property, in consultation with the Cabinet Member for the Economy to:

a)    make any necessary editorial amendments and minor changes to the Local Plan and supporting documents (as set out in the appendices to this report) prior to consultation

b)    at the conclusion of consultation period (and once the Local Plan is ready for independent examination) to take such steps as are necessary to submit the Plan to the Planning Inspectorate for Examination in Public, together with the responses received and associated documents in accordance with Town and Country Planning Regulations 2012.

c)    to deal with any matters arising from the publication of the draft Local Plan and / or matters arising in the course of the public examination.

  1. That Cabinet note that the evidence base documents (listed in this report) will be published alongside the regulation 19 Local Plan.
