Purpose

Approval to support the design and construction of the TfL Hammersmith Road permanent Cycleway 9 scheme.

Decision

1. To support the implementation of Transport for London's Permanent Cycleway 9 scheme on Hammersmith Road, subject to completion of the necessary legal, governance and operational arrangements.

1. To approve the Council entering into a Section 8 Agreement and any associated agreements with Transport for London required to facilitate delivery of the scheme while ensuring the necessary safeguards are in place to protect the Council as highway authority.

1. To delegate authority to the Executive Director of Place, in consultation with the Cabinet Member for Climate Emergency and Travel, to take all necessary steps and make all decisions required to facilitate delivery and implementation of the Permanent Cycleway 9 scheme whilst protecting the Council's interests in relation to the scheme.

1. It should be noted that discussions with TfL remain ongoing. TfL has advised that the Permanent Cycleway 9 scheme remains subject to its internal governance and funding approval processes. Support from the Council is required at this stage to enable the scheme to continue progressing through those processes.
