Purpose
Approval to withdraw from LEVI Partnership 6 and enable the development of a borough-led procurement strategy for existing and future electric vehicle charging infrastructure funded through the LEVI programme.
Decision
- To agree that Appendix 1 is not for publication on the basis that it contains information relating to the financial or business affairs of any particular person (including the authority holding that information) as set out in paragraph 3 of Schedule 12A of the Local Government Act 1972 (as amended). The Executive Director of Place is recommended to:
- Approve the Council’s withdrawal from LEVI Partnership 6 for the delivery of a standalone, borough-led procurement of electric vehicle charging infrastructure, funded from the Council’s LEVI allocation of £943,580.
- Note that Cabinet approval will be sought to approve the new procurement strategy for the revised use of the LEVI allocation: re-procuring and consolidating the approximately 2,269 existing charge points under one long-term contract, delivering approximately 200 new charge points where demand justifies them, and funding targeted accessibility improvements.
- Authorise officers to notify Partnership 6 of the Council’s intention to leave, to issue a formal withdrawal notice, and to negotiate and agree the arrangements for the return of the Council’s share of the LEVI funding to the Council.
