Approval to proceed with the implementation of
the new Willoughby Lane Controlled Parking Zone (WL CPZ) as
detailed in Appendix A, having considered objections and
representations made during the statutory consultation period. The
proposals involve introducing full-time parking controls be
implemented in Dysons Road, Heybourne Road, Leeside Road, Park
Avenue Road, Willoughby Grove, Willoughby Lane and Willoughby Park
Road. These roads to be included within a new (WL) CPZ, with
parking controls operating, Monday to Friday 8am to 6.30pm to sit
alongside existing event-day parking controls

Reasons for the decision

The Council is required to consider the
feedback received during the statutory consultation periods,
particularly any objections to the proposals, prior to its
implementation. The proposal consulted upon is aimed at improving
parking opportunities for residents and businesses in the proposed
Willoughby Lane controlled parking zone area and introduce
effective management of kerb side space ensuring safety and
accessibility.

Alternative options considered

An alternative is to not introduce parking
controls in Willoughby Lane area. This is not recommended as there
is a clear need for parking controls, and this is supported by a
majority of residents who responded to the public engagement
undertaken in June 2024. This decision aligns with Haringey’s
CPZ policy.
