It is recommended that the Delivery Director,
Finance and Resources approves the implementation of Contract
Standing Order (CSO)18.03.3, 18.02.03 and 2.05.1(n) in order to
extend GIA appointment by the value of £6,250 (exc
VAT).

Reasons for the decision

GIA have been modelling daylight and sunlight
on the Mallard Place project and have been awarded the contract
appointing them through to the end of RIBA Stage 3 and planning
submission. Extending GIA’s contract instead of employing new
Daylight and Sunlight surveyors would ensure the most consistent
and high-quality service, including avoiding any re-procurement
delays costing more time and money to LB Haringey.
It is key extend GIA on the project asap so the March 2026 deadline
for a SOS grant claim of up to £39,000,000 is not
jeopardized

Alternative options considered

A competitive tender has been rejected as it
would cause a lot of project delay in a procurement and project
kick-off perspective. It would likely cost the Council additional
money because the new consultancy would charge substantial sums for
transitional works also. If not extended and project was having to
be re-modelled and re-procured to a new Surveyor this could impact
a grant claim of potentially up to £39,000,000 targeted from
the GLA.
