The Corporate Parenting Panel ensures Harrow Council fulfils its duties to children looked after by the council and works with other agencies to improve their life chances. It reviews the council's strategy for these children and makes recommendations to the Cabinet or Portfolio Holder. The panel approves annual statements for adoption and fostering services and ensures councillors receive training on their responsibilities. It monitors key performance indicators for looked after children, including educational attainment and health, and reviews the needs of children in secure accommodation and care leavers. The panel also consults with looked after children and their carers, and arranges visits to children's homes and foster placements.
