About
The Governance, Audit, Risk Management and Standards Committee provides independent assurance on Harrow Council's governance, risk management, and financial standards. It oversees internal and external audits, reviews the annual governance statement, and monitors the council's arrangements for value for money and risk management.
In its standards role, the committee promotes and maintains high standards of conduct for councillors and other representatives. It advises on the Members' Code of Conduct, monitors its operation, and handles breaches, including granting dispensations and reviewing probity matters. The committee also oversees the council's whistleblowing policy and decisions on payments for maladministration.
