The Harrow Pension Board assists the London Borough of Harrow as Scheme Manager in ensuring the effective and efficient governance and administration of the Local Government Pension Scheme (LGPS). It oversees compliance with LGPS regulations and requirements from the Pensions Regulator, and monitors the effectiveness of decision-making, fund direction, transparency, and benefit administration.
The Board's role is to support the Administering Authority, which retains ultimate responsibility. It is composed of employer and scheme member representatives, with voting rights held by these groups. The Board makes recommendations to the Pension Fund Committee and Full Council.
