About

The Performance and Finance Scrutiny Sub-Committee monitors the council's performance and finances, driving the scrutiny function's work programme. It examines financial and service performance, including that of the council's partners, often on an exception basis. The sub-committee undertakes investigations into specific areas of concern, known as 'hot spots', through questioning, reports, or challenge panels. These investigations require endorsement from the Overview and Scrutiny Committee, which can also be referred 'hot spots' for more detailed examination. The sub-committee also considers urgent items and Councillor Calls for Action.
