Purpose
The two
oaks are substantial features in the landscape and have been
present for many decades. Oak are one of the longest-living species
in the UK and have very high biodiversity values, which increases
with age. These trees both have a very long remaining lifespan,
potentially in centuries. They are worthy of protecting in
arboriculture, cultural and ecological terms.
