RESOLVED that
Cabinet
1.
Approve the submission
of the required business cases to the Environment Agency for
funding for up to £10 million, including risk of Flood and
Coastal Erosion Risk Management Grant in Aid, to undertake option
appraisals and outline design studies for four priority projects in
the Council’s adopted coastal management strategies short
term action plans:
• Eastoke Flood
and Coastal Erosion Risk Management Scheme
• Selsmore &
Mengham Flood and Coastal Erosion Risk
Management Scheme
• Northney Farm
flood risk and habitat creation scheme
• Conigar &
Warblington flood risk and habitat creation scheme.
2.
Delegates authority to
the Strategic Director, Coastal Partnerships, following
consultation with the Cabinet Lead for Climate Emergency,
Environment & Water Quality and the Section 151 Officer, to
deliver and to appoint consultancy support for the four priority
coastal studies identified in this paper, subject to securing the
necessary funding.

Delegates authority to
the Strategic Director, Coastal Partnerships for managing changes
within the approved funding for the four priority coastal projects
identified in this paper, following consultation with the Cabinet
Lead for Climate Emergency, Environment & Water
Quality.
