Purpose

Havant
Borough Council is an active member of the Bird Aware Partnership,
with representation on the Steering Group and Project Board. It
recognises that Governance to the Bird Aware Partnership is
provided by the Partnership for South Hampshire (PfSH) Joint
Committee. The Bird Aware Solent Strategy was previously approved
by the Joint Committee and further endorsed by the Council’s
Cabinet on 5 March 2025.
 
At their
meeting on 9th December 2025, PfSH Joint Committee
approved the updates to the Revised Bird Aware Strategy, the
amendments were made in Appendix A in relation to houses of
multiple occupancy guidance. Previously there was a minor
operational discrepancy when calculating the occupation of HMO
dwelling which has now been addressed through the changes to better
reflect reality.

approves the updated Bird Aware Solent Revised Strategy as
amended
