Decision

Councillor Munday, as relevant Cabinet Lead,
introduced a report on the appointment of Cabinet panels and
working groups, which included details of the options available to
Cabinet.
 
The following amendments proposed by
Councillor Munday and seconded by Councillor Redsull were agreed
for the reasons stated below:
 
Amendments
 
1.                 
Recommendation ii be amended to read:
 

“members of the Climate Change and Environment Cabinet
Liaison Panel be appointed as set out in Appendix C”
 
2.                 
The following additional recommendation be approved:
 

“Authority be delegated to the Monitoring Officer to approve
changes to the appointments schedule as set out in Appendix C of
the report after consultation with the Leader of the
Council.”
 
Reasons
 
The Leader of the Council advised that the
membership of the Local Plan Working Group and Climate Change and
Environment Cabinet Liaison Panel was still the subject of
discussions between the political groups. The delegation of
authority to approve amendments to the appointment’s schedule
was therefore necessary to avoid any delay in making changes
arising from these discussions.
 
There being no other amendments, Cabinet voted
and agreed the substantive motion for the reasons set out in the
submitted report and above. It was therefore,
 
RESOLVED that:
 
A.                 
the Climate Change & Environment Cabinet Panel be appointed
subject to the terms of reference set out in Appendix A for the
municipal year 2024/2025;
 
B.                 
the Local Plan Working Party be appointed subject to the terms of
reference set out in Appendix B for the municipal year
2024/2025;
 
C.                
members of the Climate Change and Environment Cabinet Liaison Panel
be appointed as set out in Appendix C; and
 
D.                
authority be delegated to the Monitoring Officer to approve changes
to the appointments schedule as set out in Appendix C of the report
after consultation with the Leader of the Council.
