Place Overview & Scrutiny Sub Committee

The Place Overview & Scrutiny Sub Committee scrutinises local issues and services within Havering, acting as a critical friend to policy makers and driving improvement in public services. It holds local partners to account and ensures public concerns are heard.

The committee examines proposals and practices by questioning Cabinet Members, officers, and external partners. It develops recommendations to improve performance or respond to public consultations, which are then considered by the Overview and Scrutiny Board and potentially the Council's Cabinet. The sub-committee may establish topic groups for in-depth reviews of specific areas, such as housing, planning, waste management, and transport, producing reports and recommendations.
