About

The Hertsmere Planning Committee is responsible for determining planning applications and related enforcement matters under planning legislation. It also makes decisions on protecting specified trees and hedgerows, and handles complaints about high hedges. The committee exercises powers delegated by Hertfordshire County Council concerning public rights of way, including creating, diverting, or stopping up footpaths and bridleways. While many applications are decided by officers under delegated powers, all major or significant applications are presented to the committee. Members of the public and non-committee councillors can speak on applications at meetings.
