About

The Audit, Finance & Performance Committee provides independent audit and assurance, alongside overview and scrutiny of the Council's finances, performance, and corporate services. It monitors the Council's audit, governance, and risk management frameworks, and oversees financial reporting. The committee reviews internal and external audit reports, assesses financial and non-financial performance, and scrutinises the Cabinet's budget proposals. It also reviews the Council's constitution, risk management, and anti-fraud strategies, making recommendations to relevant officers and Cabinet members. Decisions on strategy, policy, and service delivery remain with the Cabinet or officers.
