About

The Thomas Layton Collection is a trust responsible for managing a significant historical collection of books, coins, and archaeological items, often referred to as antiquities. This collection, amassed over 70 years by Thomas Layton and described as the largest collection of London antiquities by a single individual, was bequeathed to the people of Brentford upon his death in 1911, along with a £20,000 endowment.
