The Capital and Properties Board advises the Council of the Isles of Scilly on how to best invest, maintain, and dispose of its assets to meet the community's needs over the next decade. It has no formal decision-making powers but makes recommendations to the Council.
The Board oversees the provision of quality, well-maintained, and economical buildings and facilities that are efficient and responsive to community needs. It also aims to promote environmental sustainability and greenhouse gas reduction across the Council's estate and identifies opportunities for future estate development. The Board's work includes developing capital prioritisation plans, assessing funding strategies, and overseeing asset maintenance and investment.
