The Cornwall and Isles of Scilly Joint Health and Wellbeing Board was responsible for integrating commissioning across NHS, public health, and social care services to improve efficiency and health outcomes for the local community. It led strategic planning and coordination of these services.
The Board produced and oversaw the Joint Strategic Needs Assessment and developed a Joint Health and Wellbeing Strategy. It promoted joined-up working and could raise concerns about commissioning plans with the NHS Commissioning Board or local authority leadership if they were inconsistent with assessments or strategies. The Board also produced a Pharmaceutical Needs Assessment and oversaw the Better Care Fund.
