The Health Overview & Scrutiny Committee, now functioning under the Full Council, was established to review health and social care services in the Isles of Scilly. It had the power to scrutinise health service matters, make recommendations to NHS bodies, and ensure services were accessible and equitable for all residents. The committee could also track health legislation and hold providers accountable. Health trusts were required to consult the committee on significant service changes and provide information. The committee could refer proposals for substantial developments or variations in health services to the Secretary of State.
