About

The Licensing Committee is responsible for decisions relating to licences granted under the Licensing Act 2003. This includes licences for the sale of alcohol, public entertainment, cinemas, theatres, late night refreshment houses, and night cafés.

The committee has four sub-committees, each comprising three elected members, which make decisions on licence applications. Matters not covered by the Licensing Act 2003, such as street trading licences, are handled by the Licensing Regulatory Committee.
