About

The Standards Committee promotes and maintains high standards of conduct for Kent County Council Members and Co-opted Members. It advises the Council on its Code of Conduct, provides training, and helps members observe ethical standards. The committee monitors the effectiveness of the Code of Conduct, manages complaints, and oversees ethical governance. It also reviews procedures for registering interests and declaring gifts, and can grant dispensations for members to participate in decision-making where it is deemed appropriate or in the public interest.
