Purpose

Kingston Mortuary
Chapel is a grade 2 listed building located at Kingston cemetery,
also known as Bonner Hill Cemetery. The foundation to the Chapel is
inadequate causing the building to list and split. This has
resulted in significant cracks throughout the building, reducing
the structural integrity and safety of the building.

The scope of works include underpinning to strengthen the
foundations, rebuilding buttresses to provide adequate structural
support, repairing large cracks throughout the building and
replacing and repairing damaged windows.

Following a competitive tender process via the London Construction
Programme, Dynamic Purchasing System Framework, it is recommended
that Etec Contract Services be
appointed to complete RIBA Stage 5-6 related activities and as a
result, provide a safe and compliant building.

The winning bid is £249,314.96 ex VAT with an 8 month
programme length. We are looking to get on site for the start of
January 2025 and complete by August 2025, subject to receiving
listed building consent.

Content

To endorse the contract award for the
provision of refurbishment works, foundation works, crack repair,
window replacement & repair and rebuilding of buttresses to
Etec Contract Services for a contract
period of 8 months with a 12 month latent defect period, following
a competitive tender process. The contract sum is £249,314.96
ex VAT, £299,177.95 incl VAT.
