Conduct Committee

The Conduct Committee is responsible for investigating alleged breaches of the Council's Code of Conduct by councillors and co-opted members. It decides if a breach has occurred and, if so, what action should be taken. The committee also considers requests for dispensations, allowing members with a disclosable pecuniary interest to participate in discussions or votes. Due to the confidential nature of its work, most meetings are held in private.
