Purpose
This report proposes the addition of both the
Burnley, Nelson Town Boards to the county council's list of outside
bodies and the appointment of a county council representative to
these Boards.
Content
The Leader of the County Council and the
Cabinet Member for Resources, HR and Property (Deputy Leader)
approved the recommendations as set out in the report.
The decision be implemented immediately for
the purposes of Standing Order C29 as any delay could adversely
affect the execution of the County Council's responsibilities. The
reason for this is that there is a requirement under the Long-Term
Plan for Towns guidance for local authorities and Town Boards for
the Boards to be established by 1 April 2024, and therefore a
county councillor representative is required to be appointed as
soon as possible to ensure the county council is represented on the
Boards.
