Purpose

Wyre Council received a grant
to improve the amenities on parts of Victoria Road West, Princess
Road, Slinger Road, Rough Lea Road and North Promenade
Cleveleys.
 
The highway construction works
commenced on 17th March. Works are being carried out by Highway
Operations through a S278 agreement with Wyre Council.
 
The advance payment of fees and
the Section 278 Agreement provides a robust mechanism for the
County Council to ensure it is at no financial risk from carrying
out the design, construction and supervision of these
work.

Matt Townsend, Director of Highways and Transport took a decision to
bring monies, up to a maximum amount of £466,900, into the
Capital Programme to cover the design and construction costs of the
Cleveleys highway works.
