Full council record
Purpose
The proposals are being pursued as part of a
s278 Agreement under the Highways Act 1980 as part of a new housing
development which will introduce further traffic movements along
Fairfield Road.
Additional street lighting is being installed along Fairfield Road
reverting the existing derestricted section to a 30mph Speed Limit
by virtue of street lighting.
The purpose of the proposed 30mph speed limit (between the two
sections of 30mph by virtue of street lighting) is to improve the
safety of motorised and non-motorised users, mitigating additional
traffic flows from the new housing development on Fairfield Road
with a reduction in the speed limit.
