Purpose

Funding is required for the resurfacing of the
highway surface maintained at public expense. It is proposed to
transfer £34k to PPMS ID 13312. The funding will be made
available through the budget challenge exercise.
The bridge is owned by the Canal and River Trust. The condition of
the highway surface is in very poor condition and water is starting
to penetrate through to the bridge structure. The funding is
required for resurfacing of highway over the bridge to prevent any
damage to the bridge structure. If this is not undertaken then LCC
is potentially liable for any repairs to the Canal and River Trust
bridge structure.
It is recommended that the transfer as set out is
approved.
