Purpose
The requirement to prepare a Local Nature
Recovery Strategy was introduced by the Environment Act 2021, in
order to drive nature's recovery and provide wider environmental
improvements. Lancashire County Council has been appointed by the
Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs as the
responsible authority for the preparation of the Local Nature
Recovery Strategy for Lancashire, including the areas of Blackpool
and Blackburn with Darwen.
This report presents the final Lancashire
Local Nature Recovery Strategy for approval by Cabinet. It has been prepared in accordance with the
process set out in The Environment (Local Nature Recovery
Strategies) (Procedure) Regulations 2023..
