Purpose

The capital programme for
2026/27 contains £72m of planned expenditure for highways
which fall to be managed under the Highway Asset Management Plan.
This report provides details of the recommended apportionment of
funding between asset types and sets out the programme of work
relating to available funding.
 
The principles followed for the
apportionment of funding to asset types and programmes of work are
those included in the Highway Asset Management Plan along with
consideration of strategic priorities for the year. 
 
This is deemed to be a Key
Decision and the requirements of the council's Cabinet procedure
rules (Standing Order C18, Consideration of Key Decisions) have
been complied with.
