Purpose


Bowerham Road forms parts of bus routes within Lancaster, including route numbers 4 and 9. In order to prevent any obstructions from parked vehicles, No Waiting at Any Time restrictions are proposed for certain lengths of Bowerham Road.
The introduction of these restrictions aims to provide an unobstructed route for buses, improving operation in both directions, enhancing reliability for passengers, and supporting the efficient movement of services along the route.

Consultations
Formal consultation was carried out between 16th July 2026 and 13th August 2026 which included advertising in the local press and notices being displayed on site. Divisional county councillors were consulted along with the council's usual consultees and the consultation documents posted on the council's website.

Following formal consultation 2 responses were received. The main points raised in the responses along with Officer comments are outlines in Appendix C.
 

Decision

Peter Bell, Highway Regulation Manager has taken a decision to approve the Lancashire County Council (Bowerham Road, Lancaster, Lancaster City) (Revocation And Prohibition Of Waiting) Order 202*.
