The Works Council acts as a forum for consultation and negotiation between Lewisham Council and its employees regarding corporate issues and conditions of service. It aims to prevent and resolve differences and disputes, and facilitates regular consultation on matters such as personnel policy. The Council makes recommendations to other committees on the interpretation and application of employee terms and conditions, and considers matters referred to it by other committees or joint secretaries.
