that the report be noted. The
Committee also agreed to refer its views to Mayor and Cabinet as
follows:

•        
Whilst recognising the difficult
financial situation facing the Council, the Committee agrees with
the outcome of the recent Shared Intelligence report into the
community library service model. Notably, that funding options
should be explored for major building repairs.

•        
The Committee believes that the
Council’s heritage assets are of vital importance to the
borough and it wants them to be properly safeguarded for future
generations.

•        
Therefore, the Committee
recommends that a contingency fund should be created to enable
major building repairs.
