Decision

RESOLVED that, subject to the following amendments, the Committee Work Programme be approved.

•         The focus for the September 2026 meeting will remain Family Help and Care with an additional request for information on the financial efficiency and value for money of the proposed children’s home.

•         The theme of the November 2026 meeting will remain on Youth Strategy with particular emphasis on the provision and support for transgender young people in light of EHRC guidance and related policy developments.

•         The theme of the January 2027 will change (switch with the March 2027 meeting) to an update on the implementation and progress of the SEND reforms.

•         The March 2027 theme will change to Education with particular focus on racial inequality in educational attainment.

•         Additionally Councillors were encouraged to visit schools within their wards and feedback findings to the Committee.
