Purpose

The S106 agreement (signed on 7th June 2016) for the above planning application at Clause 2 of Schedule 3, states that the value of £254,280 is to be spent on Indoor Sport Provision with no specific detail of where it must be spent in the District.

Payment of the full sum was made in September 2023 by Wilson Bowden Developments, clawback option for the developer if the money is unspent, is September 2028. 

There are no publicly accessible indoor sports venues in the Alrewas and Fradley area that could claim this funding. 

Stychbrook Park Leisure Centre is currently being constructed by Lichfield District Council; this is 3.9 miles from the development and is the closest publicly accessible leisure facility. 

Decision

The Cabinet Member for Housing & Local Plan approved the allocation of the full Indoor Sports Contribution of £254,280 to the construction of Stychbrook Park Leisure Centre.
