That the programme of infrastructure rationalisation, application consolidation and platform support set out in the report to complete the Council’s transition to a modern, cloud-based technology platform be approved.
That a variation to the previously approved specification and financial envelope of the Strategic Technology Partner contract with Version 1 be approved, reflecting an increase of approximately £1.7m to enable the accelerated delivery of infrastructure and platform consolidation.
That it be noted that the revised financial model enables a reduction in the Council’s overall IT cost base, including the acceleration of savings, the removal of legacy supplier costs and the avoidance of future capital expenditure.
That the reallocation of existing revenue budgets that will be undertaken in line with appendix A of the report, and the realised savings to fund the programme, including the redirection of spend from legacy contracts and optimisation activities, be noted.
That authority be delegated to the Executive Director of Resources, in consultation with the Leader of the Council, authority to take all decisions necessary to progress the IT Core Infrastructure Rationalisation and Core Platform Support detailed in this paper and finalise the variation of contract with Version 1 pursuant to recommendation 2.
