About

The Resources and Governance Scrutiny Committee examines the Council's finances and ensures elected Councillors can effectively represent residents' concerns to public services like the Council, NHS, Police, and Fire. It holds discussions with these organisations, using local knowledge to recommend improvements to their services.

This committee does not make decisions but can recommend changes to how the Council delivers the Manchester Strategy. Its areas of focus include finances, Council buildings, staffing, corporate and partnership governance, and Council tax and benefits administration. Residents can suggest topics for the committee to investigate.
