Purpose

To enter into updated
commercial agreements in the Council’s capacity as Members of
the Sports City Management Company

Decision

The Executive:-
 

(1)      
Note the update provided in relation to progress
made regarding the evolution of the Sports City / Etihad Campus in
accordance with the Eastlands Regeneration Framework
(2019);

(2)      
Approve the revised arrangements for Sports City
Management Company Ltd with membership from the Council, City
Football Group and Eastlands Arena Limited;

(3)      
Delegate authority to the Strategic Director
(Neighbourhoods) in consultation with the City Solicitor to
negotiate and finalise all agreements necessary to reactivate and
restructure the Sports City Management Company Limited together
with all agreements and arrangements necessary to ensure the
ongoing proper management of the Campus by the Sports City
Management Company Limited as set out in this report.

(4)      
Delegate to the Strategic Director (Growth and
Development), the completion of commercial negotiations with
Manchester City Football Club to provide Landlord’s consent
for the for the Etihad Stadium North Stand expansion and wider
shareholder arrangements.

(5)      
Authorise the City Solicitor, to enter into such
legal agreements as required to give effect to the recommendations
sets out in this report.
