About

The Audit & Accounts Committee provides independent assurance on the Council's risk management, internal controls, and financial reporting processes. It oversees the Council's financial reporting, approves the Annual Statement of Accounts, and reviews reports from internal and external auditors. The committee also scrutinises treasury management, investment, and capital strategies, as well as the Medium Term Financial Plan and annual budget. It advises the Cabinet and Council on these matters, ensuring value for money and effective governance.
