The Policy and Performance Improvement Committee (PPI) supports the Council's aims and objectives by reviewing performance and contributing to policy development. It works to ensure accountability and cost-effectiveness, fostering constructive relationships with the Cabinet and external partners.

This committee is not a decision-making body. Its role is to review performance, including statutory scrutiny functions, and to develop policy as requested by the Cabinet. Members are prevented from reviewing decisions or policies in which they were directly involved.
