Purpose

To secure Portfolio Holder
approval to use Section 106 contributions held by the District
Council for improvements to children’s play space in
Edwinstowe.

Decision

AGREED
that:
 

1.    
£32,763 of the £64,614.52 s.106
contribution for Children and Young People Space secured through
AG1180 and transferred to the Edwinstowe Parish Council following a
Portfolio Holder decision on 22nd September 2022 to
develop a skate park be redesignated as s.106 funding for Sports
Pitch Contribution; 
 

2.    
subject to recommendation 1 being agreed, a Section
106 contribution of £32,763
secured through AG1180 by the District Council
be transferred to
Edwinstowe Parish Council as a contribution to Children and Young
People space improvements in Edwinstowe to fund improvements to a
play area; and
 

3.    
the Council’s Capital Programme be amended as
per recommendation 1 above and increased by £32,763 funded through AG1180 Children and Young
People space contribution for an enhancement to play provision in
Edwinstowe.

Reasons for the decision

To enable S106 monies
held for suitable projects in Edwinstowe to be delivered by
Edwinstowe Parish Council in accordance with the terms of agreement
AG1180.

Alternative options considered

Due to the
requirements of the Section 106 agreement the monies can only be
spent on projects that are within scope of the agreement. and
Edwinstowe Parish Council is a responsible body for the provision
of children’s play space in Edwinstowe and has a suitable
scheme to allocate the monies to.
 
Re-allocating  £32,763
previously coded to Children and Young People space and now coded
to Sports Pitch contribution to the Parish Council enables a
contribution to a new children and young people’s play
project in Edwinstowe as the allocation towards Children and Young
Peoples space will be topped up by the £32,763 if
agreed.
