Full council record

Purpose

To secure Portfolio Holder
approval to use Section 106 contributions held by the District
Council for improvements to community sports facilities in
Edwinstowe.

Decision

That part of the
contribution for Community Facilities secured through the s106
Agreement and held by the District Council in the sum of
£22,600 to be
used as a contribution towards Edwinstowe Community Cricket Club
for improved access to the clubhouse and internal reconfiguration to
increase the functional space and capacity of the building for the
benefit of all user groups particularly provision for women and
girls.

That the
Council’s Capital Programme is increased by
£22,600 funded
by the Community
Facilities contribution from Section 106 agreement AG1180.

Reasons for the decision

To support the project
recommended by the Working Group and to enable the s106
contribution for community facilities held for suitable projects in
vicinity of Edwinstowe to be delivered by Edwinstowe Community
Cricket Club in accordance with the terms of agreement AG1180 and
to facilitate the delivery of improvements to its
clubhouse.

Alternative options considered

The Section 106
receipts held under this agreement have to spent on community
facilities in (the vicinity of the Thoresby Vale site) Edwinstowe
within an agreed timescale in accordance with S106 Agreement
AG1180.  Any s106 receipts not spent
within the required timescale have to be returned to the developer
with interest.

This is a project that
can be supported; however, the alternative option is to not support
the project which would then not be delivered.

The Thoresby Vale
Working Group was established to receive, consider and recommended
suitable projects for investment to the District
Council.

These proposals were
agreed unanimously, as suitable schemes for S106 contributions, by
the Thoresby Vale Working Group at its meeting on 25th
September 2025 as per minute 25/WG/017 and is therefore now
presented for formal approval.
