About

The North East Museums Finance, Audit and Risk Committee provides independent assurance on risk management, governance, and the control environment for North East Museums. It scrutinises financial and non-financial performance, focusing on how these affect risk exposure and control weaknesses. The committee also oversees the financial reporting process.

Established in 2006, the committee operates independently from the Strategic Board and has an independent chair and vice-chair appointed for a four-year term. Its work is guided by its Terms of Reference and covers all assurance needs of the Strategic Board and the Director.
